The Trend Tribe Influencer Weekend | Part One

How has it been one week since I ran away to Las Vegas with the girls from The Trend Tribe?  I had the most fabulous time in Sin City for The Trend Tribe’s inaugural Influencer Weekend.  We came, we saw, and we conquered Las Vegas like none other.  And I have photographic evidence to prove it.  Check it out:

Our first stop once we hit the Las Vegas strip was the Tom Ford makeup counter inside Neiman Marcus at Fashion Show Mall.  My makeup regimen is lipgloss and mascara but the lovely Susan Lowe – who has been a make up artist  for nearly 20 years – knew that my regular look wasn’t going to cut it for a night out in Vegas.

I’ll have to admit that I wasn’t so sure about the heavy eyeliner but Miss Susan was spot on.  She said that for the number of photos we would be taking during the evening, I’d need some added oomph.  Girlfriend was right.

I purchased the best eyebrow pencil I’ve ever used – a Tom Ford Beauty Brow Sculptor in Blonde.  It’s changing my life.  Go get one now.personal-shopping-top-shop

With our faces done, we headed out into Fashion Show Mall for a personal shopping experience with Topshop!  Topshop was born in the UK in the basement of a department store back in the early 1960’s.  They have a huge selection of casual to chic styles including a ton of accessories and shoes.  Topshop in the States is few and far between, so our visit to their Las Vegas location was a real treat.  However, Topshop is opening a location in Los Angeles within the next few weeks!  Now it will only be a 2-hour drive to go shopping in L.A. versus a 4-hour drive to Vegas!

We were greeted by the sweet girls working in the Personal Shopping department at Topshop and escorted into suite number one where we audibly squealed at the selection of outfits they had pulled for us.  Putting outfits together with slammin’ accessories is so hard for this girl so I was thrilled that the stylists had created a ton of looks for us to try on.  I ended up leaving the store with some necessary hosiery and a pair of perfect black heels.sirio-ristorante-aira-resort.

We moved fast and furiously to check into our beautiful suite at the Aria Resort and Casino.  Seriously, this might be my new favorite hotel in Las Vegas.  You can’t beat a hotel room that has curtains that close at the touch of a button.  I told my husband that we will be staying at the Aria next time we need a weekend away.

A quick outfit change and we were off to our first stop in the evening’s progressive dinner scheduled at many of the fine dining restaurants inside the Aria Resort and Casino.  Our first stop of the night was Sirio Ristorante.  How we left two full baskets of fresh bread on the table is beyond me, but we did partake in a duo of pasta – ravioli in a sage butter sauce and Pici Toscana with a ragu meat sauce – and their signature Carpriccio cocktail.  We even got to tour the restaurant’s antipasti kitchen.

Be sure to check out The Trend Tribe as we each review and discuss our favorite restaurants visited throughout the weekend!

Next up, the girls and I hit Jean Georges Steakhouse.  Holy cow – yes, pun intended.  This place was off the charts.  First, it had the right vibe because music was crazy good – Depeche Mode, The Cure, Mazzy Star, and Adam Ant.  The food was amaze.  I’m talking creamed spinach, truffled mac & cheese, perfectly grilled steak.  Read Sharon’s recap of Jean Georges for all the yummy details.

No, Jean Georges Steakhouse does not gift their patrons with Tiffany & Co. jewels.  The lovely ladies of The Trend Tribe made me feel extra special and surprised me with this beautiful necklace.  These sneaky girls pinned themselves with a pink ribbon while I was in the ladies room and when I returned this gorgeous blue box was waiting for me.  The weekend marked the fourth year anniversary of my diagnosis.  Yes, I did the ugly cry at the table.

moscow-mule-from-sage-ariaThe last stop Friday night before we hit the Aria Sky Suites for a slumber party –  more on that tomorrow – was Sage.  A table awaited us in the bar where we were greeted with the most unusual handcrafted cocktails I’ve ever seen.  The first was called a Pink Lemonade and it was so easy to drink.  Sage makes what they call a cocktail amuse bouche.  Meaning these are just a “taste” of something while they make your real drink.  The details that go into their handcrafted cocktails takes some time, therefore, the amuse bouche ties you over until one of their signature drinks is delivered to your table.  Sage’s General Manager – Robert Nikodem – was a riot and saw to our every request – which included another round of the Moscow Mule.

After our dinners, we headed out to a special surprise location.  Holy 50 Shades of Grey.  You’ll have to come back this weekend to read about what made me turn 50 shades of red.

Have you signed up to be included at the next Trend Tribe Influencer Event?  I think you should.
