30 Days of Organizing

I told you about how well my 30 days of early mornings went, right?

So, August is in the books and I’m ready for my next challenge.

This utility closet has been driving me nuts all summer long. It’s a hot mess and I fear that the teetering bins will someday crash down at my feet every time I open it to grab something.

The closet is only one of the eleventy-hundred spots in my house that are screaming for a little bit of attention. Corners and cabinets are full of unused junk, drawers stuffed with crap, shelves and boxes loaded with unplayed toys. It’s all time to go.

The plan: I have been following A Bowl Full of Lemons for some time now and it has awesome tips on cleaning and organizing. This post about organizing a playroom blows my mind. We have the exact Ikea shelving system and our playroom looks nothing like the photo she shared. Anyway, I’m definitely using Toni’s guidelines on organizing my home over the next month. One small area each or every other day. It will be done!

I’ve got a cleaning inspiration board on Pinterest too. I know I’m going to slay this one! I’ll be back at the end of the month with my results. Want to do your own 30 day challenge? Check out what Anna’s got going on over at In The Next 30 Days for some inspiration!

  1. I have the same good intention for when school starts, let’s hope I stick to it! And can’t wait to see your after pics!

I’m considering renting a dumpster! I’ll have to wait until my girl goes back to school though…I think this is a solo mission.

  2. I am so going to be following you on this one. The dumpster sounds like a really good idea… I can’t believe the amount of junk we’ve collected over the years.

  3. Having witness just a little of your blogging organization, I am certain you’ll pull this off just fine. Good luck and happy sorting!

  4. Hmm…. This is a good one but I’ll save it for winter maybe. Or I’ll just put it off again and again because I hate to do it!

    Have fun sorting & organizing!

  5. I tackled 30 Days of Organizing last year, and it’s been one of my very favorite projects. I cleaned up and an out and I made some important spaces in my home really usable. You can totally do this, and you’ll feel so great after you do!
