Resurrect and Rock Your Resolutions – Fitbit Flex Giveaway!

I was at the gym this morning in what is becoming my new favorite group class. It’s called STRONG and we basically lift free weights for 45 minutes. We also do a lot of squats, lunges, planks, push ups and something called a stink bug. I am undoubtedly the weakest chick in the class. In a sea of green and purple weights, there I am with my yellow ones. I struggle through every workout. My face gets beet red and I can only laugh at my inability to do as many reps as the rest of the class.

Since the new year, I’ve stopped comparing. I’ve stopped worrying about what the girl next to me is doing. Instead, I find myself pushing harder and looking forward to the next workout. It might not be the perfect workout but it’s a workout – and that’s how I’m rocking my resolutions.

For a while my biggest roadblock was my kids – they HATED the kids club at my gym and the only other option was to go when the hubs came home- which didn’t last to long considering he comes home late. I started going in the early morning hours – which worked fantastically… until I started watching Dexter on Netflix – and since I can’t stop at one episode I end up going to sleep very late. Gotta get back to the gym!!

  19. I struggle with comparison as well. I hate going out and exercising because I feel like an idiot. I just have to remind myself that I should be proud for doing something healthy and it doesn’t matter whether I have a red face or can’t breathe.

  30. My biggest roadblock to fitness is lack of time with 2 young kids. But I try my best to give at least 20 minutes a day to some kind of exercise. I do it for the endorphins!

  33. I totally struggle with motivation. More than that…it’s actually probably fatigue. I suffer from horrible insomnia (which I love the Fitbit Flex for tracking sleep!), and when I’m just exhausted, I have no motivation to workout. :(

  34. My biggest roadblock is myself to be honest. I stopped making any effort after it became difficult to eat because of bad teeth (now getting fixed) and went right back to old habits. I’m thankful I am aware of the issue and willing to correct my mistakes so I can keep moving forward on my health and fitness journey. Tired of being tired and overweight. And that muffin top has got to go! LOL

  40. Food! If I eat healthy and focus on that, I’m fine. The minute I allow myself sweets, rich food (cream sauces), and alcohol it goes downhill and it’s really hard to get back on track.   43. Finding time. I had learned how to manage time for exercise on a regular basis with one kid, but having #2 and #3 virtually back to back, I’m struggling to find enough hours in the day. But, this might be the motivation I need. Thanks!

    I stay motivated by hanging my favorite bikini on my wall and have to see it everyday! I can’t wait to fit back in it and be confident about my body again. I’ve got a long road but I’m in it to win it.

    My biggest roadblock: comparing myself to others. I know it should not be an issue, but when your gym is filled with “The Bod Squad,” and your membership is more in “The Lard Squad”….but I am still trying! I have gone dairy-free and am working on gluten-free; if I can do that, I can most definitely keep exercising!

    Finding the motivation. It’s hard when you have worked your but off for months and have not seen even an ounce of change. It very discouraging and then finding your motivation after that is the worst.

    My biggest roadblock is me. I love running and get out to run 3 times a week. But when I’m stuck with finding indoor workouts (like strength training or a cardio dvd), I tend to put it off thinking I’m too busy or not coordinated enough.

    I think my biggest roadblock to fitness time. I can’t always convince myself to actually go and get a good workout in, and tend to put sleep or work before working. I think a good way to stay motivated which has improved my motivation is to have a set plan written out for each week! I put pictures of fitness inspirations on the calendar to inspire me to get fit!

    My biggest roadblock to fitness is that I’m 25 and I have never had my driver’s license. I have a membership to Planet Fitness but I don’t get there as often as I like because I’m constantly having to bum a ride from friends, which is few and far between because of my job, or I ask my mom for a ride. I have no need to get my license right now so I kind of just get to the gym whenever it’s possible.

  93. It may sound lame, but my biggest roadblock is the weather and time. It’s always dark when I leave home for work and dark when I come home. The constant darkness and cold weather puts me in a slump and I’m unmotivated to even leave my place.
