I am the writer behind this lifestyle and breast cancer advocacy blog.
I am a mom to a curious 7-year-old daughter and a wife of 13 years living 45 minutes south of Los Angeles in Orange County, CA. I am passionate about learning, teaching, and sharing my experience with breast cancer. I am a fervent advocate for breast cancer research and work to support other young women dealing with the disease.
Fun facts: I love food, fun, health and the Foo Fighters.
What Do I Write About?
I write about what interests me! It can get a little cancer-heavy around these parts, especially in October. If I’m feeling it, I’m usually writing about it.
My tag line “Writing a New Story” is a reminder that even if life isn’t what you set out for it to be, you can always add a new chapter.
Where Else You Can Find Wendy Nielsen?
YouTube! Check me out on Long Story Short with Megan and Wendy! My co-creator and I write and produce two new videos per week and talk freely about parenting, share hauls, beauty, taste testing and more.
I have been featured at O.C. Register, O.C. Family Magazine and quoted in O.C. Metro Magazine. I have written for outlets such as Penn Medicine, the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation, and Good Enough Mother. I have also written several freelance posts for Anaheim/Orange County Visitors Bureau and Convention Center.
The Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation likes me enough to put my face and my words on their promotional materials.
I am a member of the Army of Women Supporting Partners Network and one of Breast Cancer Blogs “Most Boosted” cancer blogs. Kludgy Mom also named Wendy Nielsen (formerly Wendy Will Blog) one of 2012′s Top Blogs to Watch and Red Tricycle Los Angeles has selected the blog as one of the Best of La-La Land saying “From book reviews to her experience with breast cancer, the optimistic, genuine Wendy will win your heart.”
