Half-Dressed Hunky Dudes. Enough Said.

A few weeks ago, I teased this photo on Instagram to see if anyone knew where I was at. Within seconds, I got a resounding “Dinner and Tournament” from mostly everyone. I was on assignment that day for the Anaheim Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau as I was writing a behind-the-scenes piece about Medieval Times in Buena Park.

I spent a good hour with their master horse trainer and learned about how a squire moves up the ranks to become a knight, I got an awesome rare tour of the horse stables, I watched half-dressed hunky dudes wash down the horses after a show, I got to step foot into the famous arena, I got to look in on the famous falcon while it slept, I listened to the cast of the show joke around with each other on their lunch break, and I got a super sneak peek at “the board” – the one that determines which knight is going to win the tournament during the next show. It was a really fun afternoon.

My piece is finally up and I would love for you to head over to AOCVCB to read it!  Behind The Scenes at Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament

A Blogger’s Bash

I was so thrilled to be invited to the OC Blogger Bash held on October 9th at the Anaheim Convention Center and hosted by the Anaheim Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau!

You would have thought we were on the set of the television show “Mad Men!” The theme for the event was inspired by the 50th anniversary of the AOCVCB and their efforts in promoting the city of Anaheim as a premiere leisure and business destination. Holy blue eyeshadow! It was such fun to see everyone dress up as if it was 1960 (me included)!

Nylons and pumps!

With the support of MomsLA, the AOCVCB really rolled out the red carpet for the 150 bloggers attending the bash. We were treated with mini-beef wellington burgers, pineapple upside down cake, baked Alaska, fondue, and retro candy served up by a couple of pretty handsome “cigarette boys.” And drinks too…martinis, PB&J malts, and ice cold Pepsi from the glass bottle.

Yummy Eats!

Ice Cold Pepsi

A great live band played while we noshed, chatted, and checked out the mock drive-in complete with two classic cars and a roller skating waitress named “Betty.” They also gave away almost $60,000 worth in prizes from local businesses such as Knott’s Berry Farm, McDonalds, Angels Baseball, Anaheim Marriott, Disneyland Resort, Anaheim White House, Pretend City Children’s Museum, Discovery Science Center, Roy’s of Anaheim, and RA Sushi and so many others!

The evening was topped off with a stellar fashion show featuring clothes from Queen of Heartz Vintage Inspired Apparel. Whoever brilliantly dreamed up using the escalators as the “runway” is a genius. It was awe inspiring and so beautiful!

A super fun night with old friends and a few new ones too!

Thanks again to the Anaheim Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau for putting on such a spectacular event!
